Pictures from shows on Thursday and Friday, I guess I got these up pretty fast. I'm trying out a slightly different format with the pictures so let me know if you like it. Also let me know if you have any other general recommendations for the site. Thanks.

The somewhat belated February poll results for best superpower. The winner with a huge 33% of the vote was mind control; flight came in second at 20%. Acid blood, x-ray vision and laser fingers were the losers, with none of the vote. New pictures, a new column, and #3 of the print zine is out now. We're also accepting stuff for #4 with a tenative deadline of May 5.

I haven't updated the site in about two weeks, so naturally there is a lot of new stuff. New poll, new pictures, a new column, and #3 has been printed. I have mixed feelings about it, it took a lot more effort then the previous two and it's still not where I want it to be, really. Copies should start showing up at shows and such in various cities, or email me if you would like a copy. Also #4 is underway and scheduled for mid-May, so get in touch with me if you have contributions or any other various concerns.

New column. Should be a few sets of new pictures in a few days, also I am going to post all the old record reviews from #1 & #2 on the website soon, later issues as well eventually. For long term plans, I would like to move the site to a more open server and learn a little more html so I can make the site nicer, but that probably won't happen until the summer when I have more time on my hands. Drop me a line if you would like a copy of #3 when it comes out (March 12ish).

Hey, what's up? I've been really busy with papers and layout and this new video game I got, but the site is updated now. A horrendously long column, a bunch of pictures of The Stereo, updated show information, everything you could ever want. I'm about halfway done with layout but I will probably not be able to print until March 12 or 13ish so expect #3 out around then, flush with surprises. Rock.

Well, happy V-Day. In tune with the holdiay, I'd like to announce that the school network and I have gotten back together and will be working extra hard to keep this website updated. With that in mind, four new sets of pictures. Check 'em out.

-02/09/00-

Not many updates due to the various stages of notworkingness of the network. Thanks for nothing, school. Pictures from last weekend and another column as soon as it's taken care of.

More columns posted. I also fixed (or mostly fixed) the pictures in the photographs section. I counted up the poll (best Steve Buscemi movie) and quite a few people voted. The winner, with 23.8% of the vote, was Reservoir Dogs. Armaggedon came in a close second with 19.0% of the vote. The losers with no votes were Twenty Bucks (most likely due to obscurity) and Desperado (most likely because it starts off with a good monolouge from Buscemi and then goes downhill fast). There's a new poll now so go vote; or don't, which is a form of voting anyway.

Thanks to all the people who wrote, I appreciate all the comments and GUK horror stories. New columns and pictures on the site, and a Boy Sets Fire interview for #3. Email me for more information, Merrick40@hotmail.com.

Ah, back to school, back to class, back to mind-numbing labor, back to central Illinois weather, back to playing fork-in-the-eye and find the herpes sore with my dorm floor, back to friends in out of state schools. More to read in "A Lot to Say", an editorial of sorts. I'll try to get some more pictures this weekend for y'all so be patient. Number three is coming together nicely, expect interviews with The Stereo, Lawrence Arms, Oblivion, The Faint, David's top ten albums of 1999, and as yet unconfirmed material from myself and the rest of the staff (you know who you are, email me). So back to work!

A lot more pictures now... Our trip to Bachelor's Grove, what I did New Year's Eve, and the Haymarket Riot show last night, check them out in the "photographs" link.

Well, happy New Year. Not much new for Interstate, expect to see copies in Madison, Iowa City, Chicago, Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal over the next few weeks. #3 is in the works, expect nicer layout, cooler features and hopefully more writing from our dedicated staff. Drop us a line if you have any questions or comments, also our deadline is 02/01/00, mark your calendars...

Guess it's about time for an update, most likely the last of the year. The zine is out, it has interviews with Mustard Plug, Mathlete, At the Drive-In and Franklin. They will slowly be working their way out to all our faithful readers... hopefully more updates to the site soon, quite a few distractions and Tripod is not a forgiving master...

Alright, here goes. The bad news:
-I have been very sick the past few days.
-As a result of being sick, I wasn't able to finish the layout for the zine.
-Since the layout wasn't finished, I couldn't print.
-And also because I was sick I missed the StLJ show where I was going to bring some of the zines which I don't have.
-On the side my computer has been going through various stages of brokenness.

On the plus side:
-My new release date for #2 is December 29, when I should be back at the Fireside to see Logan's Loss play. Hopefully it will be out before then.
-Of course the 50 states thing has received a fairly warm welcome, all kinds of bands coming from different places who want to talk about their state. Check out the "50 bands" section to learn more...
-City girl Allison may be helping out with the site sometime in the future, look for special effects.
-Eight straight hours of Dino Crisis yesterday, a bag of chips and a two liter of RC... it's good to be home for the holidays.

Issue #1 of Interstate has been out for about a month and a half, and almost all of the copies are gone. If you are still interested, get in touch with me, it has interviews with Atom and His Package, Insidious, The Vida Blue and Alkaline Trio.

I will be receiving the last few contributions for issue #2 over the next few days, and will finish the layout on Tuesday. It contains interviews with Mike Downey, Franklin, At the Drive-In and Mustard Plug, as well as columns and record reviews. I hope to have #2 printed out in time to bring it with to the Fireside Bowl on Friday for the Sweep the Leg Johnny show.

Issue #3 is well under way. We still need contributions, so if you can do interviews, photography, columns or other things it would be cool. If you are interested, the deadline is 02/01/00, so get in touch with me at Merrick40@hotmail.com.
